I hope Texans won’t think I am a carpetbagger for initiating an online petition calling for the impeachment of Texas 51st District Judge Barbara Walther. However, as a New Yorker who has had to do battle with Child Protective Services, I have great sympathy for the parents and children whose rights were violated at the FLDS compound in Texas, even though I am opposed to polygamy and to the religious ideas of the FLDS.

If you believe that it is a judge’s duty to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and their state constitution, in this case the State of Texas, I hope you will sign my petition calling for the impeachment of Judge Barbara Walther. You do not have to live in Texas to sign the petition.

By the way, this is the first online petition I have initiated. That’s how important I think this issue is.

Once a number of signatures are collected, I will be sending an e-mail to Texas lawmakers directing them to the petition.

Meanwhile, if you would like to file a complaint with the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct against Judge Barbara Walther, click here.

If you would like to tell Barbara Walther personally (please be polite) that she should resign from office, click here.

  • This woman seems to me to be unfit to serve as a judge. She doesn’t seem to know how to comply with instructions from her superiors, ie., the Texas Supreme Court, and clearly she overstepped her bounds by authorizing the raid on the FLDS on the basis of flimsy evidence as well as a supposed phone call from a “16 year-old” that cannot be produced, and in all likelihood, was a hoax. Her’s was a knee-jerk reaction without compelling evidence.

  • Thanks for being their to help right the injustice of these children and their families.

  • She’s just one of a state full of incompetents that recklessly destroy the lives of TX citizens. Their targets are usually fathers, but they’re not above taking down entire families when they feel ambitious.
