Click here to read part one of our interview with 21st Congressional District candidate, Steven Vasquez.
Marv Cermak of the TU predicts that Jim Buhrmaster and Paul Tonko will win their respective primaries in New York State’s 21st Congressional District race. Assuming that is true, whom would you vote for?
I have added other possible scenarios–Buhrmaster vs. Brooks and Buhrmaster vs. Steck.
I’ve also added polls for both the Republican and Democratic primaries. Obviously, I cannot stop Republicans from voting for Democrats or vice-versa.
You can add a comment to each poll. Comments may be used on this blog.
Vote early but you cannot vote often. The computer won’t let you. (You can vote in each poll once).

Well so far Tracey seems to have the greatest advantage over Buhrmaster in the general by the poll. She also has some good momentum.

Wow, it looks like Brooks and Steck mobilized their people. Too bad they’ll only have one vote in the REAL election!

While these polls are unscientific, they are set up so that you can’t vote twice. I am sure that some people know how to get around that, but I am also sure that there is the same percentage of supporters for each candidate who would cheat.

It’s quite unfortunate that Steven Vasquez was not featured in most of these polls. While he’s not quite as well known as Jim Buhrmaster, he’s got quite the following from what I can see. Based on what I know about him, he’s a breath of fresh air compared to politics as usual. Also, he’s not afraid to discuss real issues unlike Burhmaster, whose website and speeches are about as vague as can be.
I would have liked to see how he stands up against the Democrats in your polls. Perhaps future polls could include Mr. Vasquez?

Hopefully we will do some polls with Steven Vasquez.

Not only is Steven fresh air but he sweeps away the stench the other candidates bring to the podium. All the others are political hacks who will listen to what the party leaders tell them, to the union leadership and, when they get to congress, they will go along to get along. Not Steven. He seems to be the kind of guy who will align himself with other independent legislators, to forge a new coalition of action oriented lawmakers, devising reasonable solutions that can be implemented today, not the jellyfish that inhabit Washington who put their heads somewhere and hold up a finger to test the wind before deciding what to do.

Steve Vasquez IS a breath of fresh air, as stated by others. How Long, How Long, will Americans keep voting for politicians, and then cry when life sucks? Wake up people.

Mr. Burhmaster says we need a business mentality in congress. Were not Bush and Cheney businesmen? We know how well that has worked out. Oil prices haver tripled thanks to “Dick” Cheney and guys in the “awl bidness”.Iraq, the Katrina meltdown, not to mention the deregulation of the banks brought to you by businessmen. Now the taxpayers are paying for the folly of “Businessmen”. Yeah. We really need more businessmen in Washington!
